This depends on the specific medication. Injectable treatments such as semaglutide and tirzepatide are typically taken once a week. Oral treatments vary: some, like oral semaglutide, need to be taken on an empty stomach with a small amount of water, at least 30 minutes before food or other medication. Others, like Foundayo (orforglipron), can be taken once daily at any time, with no food or water restrictions. You can get a prescription by booking an appointment with our clinical team, completing the simple pre-screening health questionnaire, attending for your face-to-face appointment with our prescribing pharmacist, and, if clinically appropriate, taking the medication away with you same day, having been conveniently and discreetly dispensed by our in-house pharmacy.

We provide a free sharps recycling service for anyone using injectable medication with us. Once your yellow SharpsGuard bin is full, bring it into the pharmacy and we’ll take it off your hands and give you a new empty bin to take home, free of charge. Please make sure the lid is clicked shut before you bring it in, and never put needles or pens loose in general waste or recycling. All collected bins are disposed of safely through a licensed clinical waste contractor.

Yes. If you’re starting injectable medication with us, we’ll give you your first sharps bin as part of your consultation. If you need a replacement or an extra bin in the meantime, just ask at the counter and we’ll sort you out.

No limit for our own patients – bring in as many full bins as you’ve built up. If you’re dropping off an unusually large number, it’s worth giving us a quick call first so we can make sure we have space to store them before collection.

Yes, a friend, family member, or carer can bring your full bin in on your behalf – there’s no need for you to be present.

It’s stored securely on-site and collected by a licensed clinical waste contractor, who dispose of it safely in line with healthcare waste regulations. Your bin is never opened or handled by anyone other than trained staff.

This free collection service is for patients using injectable medication through our pharmacy. If you’re not currently a patient with us, your GP surgery, community pharmacy or local council waste service can usually advise on sharps disposal options near you.

We’d ask you to wait until it’s full (or at least three-quarters full) where possible, so we can keep the service running efficiently — but if you’re moving house, travelling, or otherwise need to dispose of a partly-full bin, just bring it in and let us know.

Yes, and we’d be happy to take over your care. Because we see patients face to face, we’re able to provide the kind of ongoing clinical review that’s difficult to offer through an online-only service.

Yes, every new patient goes through a full assessment first, regardless of how long they’ve already been on treatment. This isn’t about starting from scratch unnecessarily – it’s how we make sure we have the complete picture before taking over your care.

Bringing as much of the following as you can will help your treatment continue with minimal disruption:

• Some form of ID
• Proof of your current prescription, such as a letter or summary from your previous provider, a screenshot or printout of your dose history, or your original medication boxes and dispensing labels
• A list of the medicines and supplements you’re currently taking
• Your GP’s details, if you’d like us to keep them informed

Without evidence of your current dose, we may need to start you on the standard licensed starting dose rather than continue at your existing level. This is purely a safety precaution.

We’ll take your weight, height, and check your general health in person. One of our prescribers will review your full history, including your weight-loss journey to date, any side effects you’ve experienced, and your overall wellbeing. We’ll confirm exactly which medicine, brand and dose you’re on, agree together on whether to continue as-is or make any changes, and get your next review booked in before you leave.

Only with your permission – we’ll let your NHS GP know you’re having private weight-management treatment with us. It’s good practice for keeping your care joined up, for instance so your GP is aware of what you’re taking if you ever need other medication. The choice is entirely yours, and we’re happy to talk through any concerns.

We understand it can feel like unnecessary hoops, particularly if you’ve been on treatment for some time already. We ask because dosing weight-loss medicines safely depends on us knowing exactly what you’ve had so far. It also protects you from any gaps or mix-ups as you move between providers, and reflects our commitment to being a clinic that looks after you properly, not one that simply supplies a prescription.
